I’m not going to waste your time with pretentious metaphors, quotations, or examples that are commonplace for MAL as the Megumin spinoff of Konosuba is incredibly simplistic in a way that is not deserving of such a grandiose introduction. It’s just more Konosuba and it takes everything positive and negative that comes with that. To understand the inherent quality or lack thereof of the Megumin spinoff, one needs to acknowledge what made the original series compelling in the first place.

Konosuba’s main strength is its characters and their relationships with each other. With virtually no story to speak of, an episode of Konosuba typically consists of ...

In 2016,one of the most loveable and iconic anime girl make her explosive debut.

7 years later,we finally get a full backstory of her and i can assure you,it sure is a BLAST.

Konosuba is a big name in anime industry, everything that is related with it is destined to gain massive popularity even their shitty mobile game that makes you wanna detonate yourself is very popular in some certain points, the same can be said to this spin-off and it deserves every single bit of it.

The story explore how megumin's life before she became the red arch-wizard that everyone know and love,it tells us about how she met ...

Waga na wa Megumin! The foremost and greatest mage among the Crimson Demons!
Because Yunyun allowed me to pursue Explosion magic on that day, I became who I am now!
Let the storm blow! Let the flames roar! Explosion magic is the stuff of dreams! It is the ultimate magic that turns the impossible possible!

For the presumptive in the hearts of the Otaku, 2016 was a rather iffy year of finding out what makes or breaks the AniManga scene at that brief moment in time. Shows like Boku Dake ga Inai Machi a.k.a Erased and Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju showed the people that anime still had aways ...

Man, it hurts watching something associated with Konosuba be THIS unfunny and boring.

I gave the first few episodes the benefit of the doubt - I hoped things would pick up, that the quality of writing and the jokes would improve... that at least SOMETHING interesting would happen. But nah, this shit is straight-up ASS.

Go back and watch Konosuba again, if you disagree. The writing is crisp and the pacing is snappy - The show has momentum. The jokes are funny and the situations the characters find themselves in are always hilariously ironic. The Megumin show, on the other hand, just meanders and weighs you down ...

Mixed Feelings

The main attraction of Konosuba is that it is a complete comedy that isn’t serious. If we compare this season to the previous two seasons and the legend of Crimson movie, it does its job just fine. Konosuba never had a plot in the first place so the fact that absolutely nothing happens in this spin-off shouldn’t bother you given that you have watched the first two seasons and the movie. Right off the bat, the characters are obviously different, and the show is too. I simply think that the series is not as funny without Satou Kazuma, Aqua, and Darkness. Don’t get me wrong, ...

Imagine, one fine day in spring, birds chirping, cherry petals swaying, somewhere a murder of mules melodiously braying, and you are hungry. So you divine to acquaint yourself with that fresh little restaurant across the station. As your feet carry you there, and the waiter leads to a comfortable seat, you settle with the order of the chef's special for the day. Not even fifteen minutes pass before it is, rather, they are brought before you, one by one. While you satisfy the glutton within with the meal, you're charmed by the quality. Having finished your dinner, it suddenly grabs your mind whether the food ...

So, I had to end up dropping this show early because it just became tedious to watch. It is incredibly uninteresting and doesn't really justify its own existence. The long story short is that it is just the same tired jokes repackaged to capitalize on the recognition of Megumin as a character. There's not much else to it.

For me, a prequel really needs to justify itself. What new incredible insight are we getting into the main story by seeing this backstory? For Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Bakuen wo!, the answer is nothing. The show spends an enormous amount of time doing absolutely nothing of interest. ...

Perhaps one of the most popcorn comedy worthy franchise of this generation adapted straight out of fantasy novels is the one and only Konosuba. The Konosuba franchise is one that draws on the viewers' laughters, one that loves to make fun of its own cast, and one that plays around with its story. Now, we have a spinoff focused on Megumin, the explosive magician who loves making the world explode.

A big question we may ask of ourselves is if we need to watch the first seasons of Konosuba. As a spinoff standalone, the answer is no so save yourself some time and take this spinoff ...

This show's tagline should be: 'do you remember the explosion girl from Konosuba? (of course you do, you perverts) well, here's more!'. With one of the most explosive intros in anime history, Megumin makes her triumphant return to the small screen... or not?

Animation: 7
Standard grade from Konosuba and it's consistent all the way.

Story: 7.5
This show starts low and ends high, fellas. We got a few major arcs. The first arc is a school arc which quite honestly blows. Second mini-arc is the after-school special and then we get Arcanletia and the real fun begins. After that one we get Axel which is the best ...

What a disappointment. After completing the first two seasons and movie long ago, I was always paying attention for a season 3. So, when this show popped up I had mixed emotions. Although I wanted Konosuba content, why not give us a season 3? The light novel has come to a close, why not tell that full story before going into a prequel? Instead we get a lackluster prequel story about a world that is meant to be a parody. I was planning to write this review after watching the second episode, but MAL doesn't allow that, forcing me to watch another boring episode.

Arguably ...

There is a lot of plot progression, and works perfectly fine as a prequel to the main story as it tells Megumin's and Yunyun's story before the main storyline that starts in season 1, and it starts to line up perfectly by episode 5.
It has not lost any of it's previous humor, the storytelling and writing is in my opinion perhaps even better, as is the animation and art.
It does perfectly well what a prequel is usually supposed to do, which is start off at a point where it's still pretty far from the main storyline, and then by showing the events that ...

This is the kind of spin offs that many popular animes wish they hand in all honesty.

You take a popular IP in Konosuba, and decide to make a whole origin story on one of it's most popular characters in Megumin,((Not to mention Yunyun for that matter as well.)) It's as if someone saw the success of how the movie went, and went all out on this, and it's providing such fine entertainment from start to finish. Whoever green lit the idea for this, deserves a raise honestly. If you love Megumin, love Yunyun, love Konosuba, then this is honestly going to be a major hit ...

It's Konosuba, what more can be said?

I absolutely loved the dynamic it maintained throughout the season. It wasn't slow, nor was it excessively fast. It had a constant pace that made it quite enjoyable to watch.

The story is engaging, amusing, and intriguing.
We get to know Megumin up close, a character who initially didn't seem to contribute much but turns out to be quite complex.

This leads us to the well-written characters, who retain the same essence as those in the "normal" Konosuba. Whether they are main characters, supporting ones, or even comedic relief, each one shines in their own way, making them excellent.

The animation is ...

Honestly I found this very funny and I liked how the show transitioned in the beginning from school life back to adventure and to how megumin met the gucci gang.

Comedy was great, honestly imo the show is definitely underrated and very funny.

Animation was great! It honestly wasnt a let down and I have great hope for the actual season 3 of the show.

Story was well written and while its a different vibe without Kazuma Aqua and Darkness it still hits just right in its own niche. This show really found its place and was well written and well paced. Was it full metal ...

The long awaited sequel?prequel?sidestory yeah fuck that, its more konosuba and I am here for it.

Its a worthy continuation of the best and the most renowned and only example Cute girls being dumb as fuck and doing dumb shit in anime, and this time its all girls ? and also all of them chunni master magicians , hell yeah quite the treat in more ways than one.

The crimson devil (sidestory is the apt thing here I guess) actually was a bit of a surprise when it was announced , I personally thought konosuba is mostly just a parody and does not have enough ...

When I started Konosuba I thought of it as a show that I'll just complete and forgot about it but after watching season 2 it became one of my fav anime the art style, character design, comedy and story everything was on point this season is intriguing as well as it focuses on our bombastic Megumin and shy-fy Yunyun.

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not a megumin fan. In fact, I am notoriously a megumin hater. That said, I really liked this spin-off and it actually made her grow on me quite a bit and gave me a new appreciation for the character.

I know it’s blasphemous to say you don’t like megumin since she’s most konosuba stans’ top girl, but I’ve always found her cringe, annoying and the whole “I only want to learn explosion magic” to be stupid. That was, until this show. Pretty much all of the issues I had with her character were addressed in this spin-off. She ...

Konosuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World is proof that old proverb is true: art is an explosion.

This KonoSuba spin-off (not season 3) is a prequel of the main series that, as stated in the very first scene, shows Megumin's (the most beloved character in this series) origin story, from the moment she fell in love with Explosion Magic until she finally meet a certain shut-in NEET and an useless self-proclaimed goddess.

Story: 7,5/10

Not gonna lie: it is slow in the first 3 episodes, I'm genuinely surprised episode 3 content was adapted. It still has some really funny moments, but this series just starts ...

Explosions, Chunibyou, and Other Explosions.

The explosion prequel spin-off to the KonoSuba series that follows the rise(?) of arch-wizard prodigy, wielder of explosion magic and everyone's favourite worst girl (except mine, that would be Darkness) Megumin, a delusional chunibyou who hails from a village of delusional chunibyou’s called the Crimson Demons, and her self-proclaimed rival Yunyun, the Crimson Demon village chief’s daughter and the only member of the village who thinks all of the delusional chunibyou antics are embarrassingly cringe and is therefore mostly ostracised.

If you’ve never watched the original KonoSuba, all you need to know is that this is the comedy isekai that every other ...

Konosuba is arguably one of the greatest comedies of all time. Mixing genuinely amazing and hilarious characters with out of the world scenarios along with great action is the norm for the show. It is however, a character driven comedy first and foremost so hearing that the spinoff features only Megumin from the main cast is definitely going to be a bit disappointing for some. Fear not though, as Konosuba An Explosion on This Wonderful World (Or Bakuen for short) is an absolute gem that can stand up with the best of it's genre. Megumin has always been a great character and seeing her backstory ...
