I don't think there is any injustice. I think there is a strategy. This strategy will be reviewed. I think that today it is a good idea to elect a person who is unrelated to the party – said PiS MEP Michał Dworczyk about Karol Nawrocki in “Rozmowa Piaseckiego”.
The president of Law and Justice will be the candidate of Law and Justice in the upcoming presidential elections Institute of National Remembrance Karol Nawrockiwho is presented by the party as a “citizen” candidate. Michał Dworczyk – PiS MEP, former head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, said in “Rozmowa Piaseckiego” on TVN24 that there was a “strategy” behind the choice of Nawrocki as a candidate.
When asked whether he did not consider it an “injustice of fate” that someone from outside the party was selected as the candidate, and not, for example, Mateusz Morawiecki, Mariusz BłaszczakPrzemysław Czarnek or himself, replied: – I don't think there is any injustice. I think there is a strategy. This strategy will be reviewed. I think that today it is a good idea to choose a person who is not affiliated with the party – said Konrad Piasecki's guest.
– After eight years of rule Law and Justice and most of the politicians you mentioned also carry with them the burdens of these eight years in power. Any participation in the executive branch carries certain burdens. Therefore, a person was selected who, on the one hand, has the appropriate competences and, on the other hand, does not have the burden of eight years of responsibility for the government – explained Dworczyk.

“It's going to be a crazy hard race”
He added that he assessed Nawrocki's election “positively”. – We have completed a rather long stage of selecting a candidate. And this is something that should be positively assessed. Now everyone, regardless of their views, beliefs, sympathies or antipathies in our political formation, knows who the candidate is and we are all supporting this candidate's campaign, all hands on deck, said the MEP.
He said that “President Nawrocki has a number of advantages that give him a chance in this race.” – It will be an extremely difficult race and it is already visible, especially after the carpet bombing and the attack that is being launched on him – says Dworczyk.
He called “fakes on the Internet and various kinds of slander” a “carpet raid.” – Then, of course, it is denied and someone even apologized. But we know what message was sent, he said.
The PiS politician was also asked whether he existed and whether his party had become acquainted with the “dossier (information about – editor) Nawrocki”. – I don't know what dossier we're talking about. I know that such a document or dossier is circulating somewhere on the Internet. I have seen a lot of information on the Internet slandering or presenting Karol Nawrocki in a bad light. I guess it's related to this. It's difficult for me to speak clearly about a document I don't know, he said.
– Of course, I heard accusations of contact with the fan community. (…) I believe that it will be used by Karol Nawrocki's opponent. But what is most important and requires emphasizing, all the information that appeared on the Internet, Karol Nawrocki consistently denies – believes Dworczyk.
Pogonowski did not appear at the committee meeting. “It's not tactics, it's consistency”
Piotr Pogonowski, former head of the Internal Security Agency, was detained by the services. He is to be brought to a hearing before the Pegasus investigative commission, before which he has failed to appear several times before. He referred to the September ruling of the Constitutional Tribunal headed by Julia Przyłębska, declaring the commission's work unconstitutional.
About Pogonowski's failure to appear at the commission's meeting, Dworczyk said that “it is not a tactic, but a consequence of the fact that many people, including law professor Pogonowski, take the judgments of the Constitutional Tribunal seriously, and the Constitutional Tribunal clearly ruled that the commission operates illegally because was incorrectly appointed.
When asked what the justification for the Constitutional Tribunal's ruling was, he said that “politicians should not speak so clearly on such serious and complicated matters.” – What is happening in our country today is legal chaos – he said.
– You won't persuade me to discuss legal issues, because I'm not a lawyer, I'm a historian. I will be happy to talk about historical matters or politics, but you will not persuade me to discuss the legal analysis of individual acts or judgments – in this case, the Constitutional Tribunal – said Dworczyk.
Later he asked Piasecki a question. – Are you not surprised by what happened today? Isn't this some kind of media and image-related action, provoked or caused by the current government? According to my knowledge, and I am of course based on the knowledge available in the media, the entire path for transmitting the District Court's decision has not been exhausted, and the time for receiving this decision by Mr. Pogonowski has not expired – said the TVN24 guest.
